The city of Amritsar boasts of the most important religious place for Sikhs, the Golden Temple. The stunning worship place attracts millions of tourists every year.

Other place to visit in the city are Jallianwala Bagh, a short walk from the Golden Temple, Mata Temple, Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Ram Tirth.

Amritsar offers some of the best known Punjabi food. Another nearby attraction is the India-Pakistan border at Wagah where Indian and Pakistani soldiers do a march-off every evening.
